The Slow Living Summit is an annual summit in collaboration with the Strolling of the Heifers and Windham Grows. The theme of this year’s summit is the Future of Women in Food Entrepreneurship, and it is curated to give current and aspiring women in farm and food the tools, resources, and mentorship needed to grow businesses, create positive change in their communities, and revolutionize the future of food. This has been a powerful year for women, and the Slow Living Summit will explore the present and future of women in food-centric fields. This is 8th Nation’s first year with Slow Living Summit, and attendance projections have already increased 300% over last year!
In its 16th year, the Slow Living Summit was looking to revive its image and brought in 8th Nation to contribute specialized expertise in diversity-focused events. The Slow Living Summit needed someone to take the helm with all logistics concerning the event, from booking speakers, social media efforts, PR releases, finessing panels, speakers presentations, and topics. In addition to event-related projects, 8th Nation has been tasked with coordinating and revamping Slow Living Summit’s brand identity, website, and social media presence.
8th Nation created an invite template and curated/secured all speakers for the summit as well as coordinated with speakers to create panels, workshops, and keynotes. 8th Nation secured Winona Laduke of Honor the Earth, Stacey Vanek Smith of NPR’s Planet Money, Christine Halquist of Christine for Vermont, and Lisa Lorimer, formerly of Vermont Bread Company and currently of Mama Sez among the pedigreed list of speakers and panelists.
Still in the process of creating this incredible event; please stay tuned for details. The Summit is taking place Thursday, June 6th, and Friday, June 7th, 2019.
